One Laptop Per Child

October 19, 2005

From an old email that’s circulating….

“If one would represent our entire planet’s population with a single village of 100 people, this village would be made up of 57 Asians, 21 Europeans, 14 Americans and 8 Africans. 52 would be female, 48 male. Only 30 would be white and 11 of the villagers would be gay. 6 people would own 59% of all the money and assets whereas 80 people would be homeless and 70 cannot read. 50, half of them, would depend on somebody else. One person would die but two new people will be born in the same time. One (1) would own a PC and again, only one person would have a degree of any kind.”

So initiatives like these, no matter how far fetched they might seem at first, can only be good news, no?
